Previously, she was Head Specialist of Modern & Contemporary Art at artnet Worldwide Corp., where she led the inaugural e-Commerce development of artnet auctions and the Modern + Contemporary department. Additional to advising collectors, she also lectures and advises museums and nationally and internationally prominent artists and collectors, and appraises individual artworks and entire collections for estate purposes, charitable gift purposes and deaccession. She launched the contemporary gallery, Res Nova in New Orleans and later relocated it to 57th Street in New York City. 

Presently, the gallery is private, by appointment.

He has contributed to the leading journals of the United States and Europe, including Art in America, Art Forum, ArtNews, Arts, Tate, Art Presse, and Hyperallergic, as well as Vogue, Elle, and New York magazine. His books include 'The Fate of a Gesture: Jackson Pollock and Postwar American Art'; 'Out of the Box: The Reinvention of Art', and monographs on Andy Warhol, John Singer Sargent, Georgia O’Keeffe, Gilbert & George, and others. Among his books of poetry are 'Fever Coast', 'Give Me Tomorrow', and 'Arrivederci, Modernismo'. His first novel, 'Tequila Mockingbird', was published in 2015.
